Gegenpol: Georg Aerni

Gegenpol | A decelerated exploration of selected works from the BGP collection.

On 14 November, we will look together at the work Kander (2022) by Georg Aerni and discuss it with the artist and art researcher Isabel Zürcher.

Georg Aerni (*1959 in Winterthur) pursues an artistic oeuvre that deals with the built and natural environment in parallel with architectural photography. In precisely composed works, he often focuses his gaze on places where human traces and natural processes of change overlap in an impressive way.

The photograph Kander (2022) is from the Falten und Schichten series, which presents seemingly timeless alpine rock faces and at the same time reveals their transience due to the effects of weathering.
