Review: Tour of the HPT renovations, ETH Hönggerberg

On 2 October 2024, the tour of the renovations to the HPT building at ETH Hönggerberg took place. We would like to thank all participants for their attendance and keen interest.

Special thanks go to Matthias Köhler from the City of Zurich's Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments and to Dominic Bosshard, Martin Brunschwiler and the team from Ghisleni Partner AG for their excellent cooperation in organising this event.

The guided tours provided fascinating insights into the challenges and solutions involved in renovating the building, which was designed by Albert Heinrich Steiner in 1967. It was particularly impressive to see how it was possible to preserve the ‘Steiner skeleton’ and at the same time fulfil today's requirements for safety, fire protection, obstacle-free access and laboratory technology.

We would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution to the successful event!
