After six years of planning and construction, the Center for the Elderly "Du Lac" in St. Moritz opened its doors to the public for the first time on Saturday, 21 September 2024. We are still overwhelmed by the great interest – around 1,000 people took the opportunity to visit the new building. Together with the project owner, the entire planning team, and the contractors, we are proud to have realized centrally located residential and care facilities for people in the third and fourth stages of life.
Due to its urban location, the residents can continue to participate in the social life of the region. The building incorporates local architectural traditions – such as the mineral façade, wooden surfaces, and the Engadine bay window – while reinterpreting them. This architectural design decision, combined with the cozy interiors, facilitates the continuation of the individual life stories of the residents and tenants.
After completing the final works and inspections, the first residents will move in at the beginning of November.
